Conclusion. Anjan, a software engineer in Bangalore, India, decides to "take it to the peak" and immigrate to Silicon Valley with his e-mail-order bride, Harshini. And after a week in Juarez, the Floreses find a second sponsor and move to Kansas, where they thrive---except for Ventura, who's stuck in the house. Meanwhile, Hatem's political activism finds a focus (too much of one for Naima's liking, at times) with the Arab-American Community Center; Ricardo makes it to the major leagues while Jose finds romance in the minors; Berine buys a house on Chicago's South Side; and Ngozi has a son. Her husband, Israel, has some job and health reverses, though, and is depressed. But not too depressed. "My kids think America is their country," he says. "They have high hopes."
