Synopsis by Steve Blackburn
The Pullman name was once synonymous with American industrial might and luxurious travel on trains. The Pullman railroad cars, which featured sleeping berths and private cabins, represented romance on rails in numerous Hollywood movies and in the public imagination. In telling the story of the final days of the Pullman factory, during 1981 union negotiations with management, this documentary also bears witness to the end of an era, and recounts the hundred-year relationship between corporation, government, and labor union.
