Synopsis by Hal Erickson

It was difficult in 1976 to regard David McCallum and Hayley Mills as "veteran actors," but in fact they collectively had forty years' experience to their credit. In the South African Kingfisher Caper, McCallum and Mills are but two cogs in a plot wheel involving a decades-old family feud. Both warring families dearly covet a valuable diamond mine, and there are those who'll stop at nothing to get it. As often happens in these things, a star-crossed romance develops. Perhaps so that potential viewers wouldn't think The Kingfisher Caper was an "Amos 'N' Andy" episode, the film was retitled Diamond Lust for its videocassette release.
