An ordinary man steps over to the wrong side of the law and lives to regret it in this independent suspense drama. Bobby (Jack Davenport) sells insurance for a living, but he doesn't bring in much money, and he's constantly the butt of jokes around the office. Bobby has a beautiful wife, Karen (Judy Greer), and a young son, and Bobby wishes he could offer them a better life. Bobby likes to play golf, and one afternoon on the links he meets Irving (Brian Cox), who takes an interest in Bobby when he learns he's in the insurance game. Irving introduces Bobby to his friend and colleague Vincent (Hugo Weaving), and he learns the two men are actually con men who want him to help them pull off a scam. All Bobby has to do is make some changes in the company's books on one of their clients and he'll earn a big payday; eager to do something good for his wife and get revenge on his superiors, Bobby agrees, but it isn't long before the tables are turned on him. The directorial debut for designer and screenwriter Peter Himmelstein, The Key Man received its world premiere at the 2011 South by Southwest Film Festival.
