Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The longtime host of the popular Fox Network reality series America's Most Wanted, John Walsh launched his own daily, hour-long talk show on September 9, 2002. In keeping with the fact that Walsh himself lost his beloved son Adam to a kidnapper-murderer in 1981, the new series provided tips on how to keep kids safe, at home and at school. In addition, this "nontraditional, intelligent" chatfest traveled all over the country in search of "hometown" heroes (the first episode, taped at Ground Zero in New York City, was a tribute to the courageous firefighters and police officers of 9/11). Though syndicated by the NBC network, The John Walsh Show was not exclusively shown over the network's local affiliates.
