Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A Greek businessman who previously emigrated to Germany returns to his hometown to hand off his daughter in marriage, and in the process befriends an Albanian immigrant who becomes the son that he never had. Ilias (Arto Apartian) left his hometown in central Greece back in 1969 and never looked back. Now he has returned home for his daughter's wedding in the company of his beautiful and much younger wife Eleni (Maria Skoula). Ilias had originally departed for Germany because his village was a place where life stood still, but these days it's slowly growing, and he has purchased a modest café to give to his son-in-law. Disappointment soon follows, however, when his daughter and her new husband depart for Germany almost immediately after exchanging their vows - presumably never to return. Although the village is growing, it's still too small for Eleni, who chooses to spend most of her time in the nearby town of Ioannina. One day, after offering a ride to Albanian immigrant Petro (Artur Luzi), Ilias becomes fast friends with the man and winds up offering him a job. But while Petro is overjoyed at the prospect of finding steady work, Eleni seems to be growing more bored by the hour. As the lonely Eleni and the grateful Petro strike up a cautious friendship, autocratic Ilias begins to wonder if his newfound friend and employee would breach his trust for the love of a forbidden woman.
