Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Tyrone Power heads the cast of the 1920 silent Great Shadow. No, it's Tyrone Power, Sr., the celebrated stage-star father of the 1940s matinee idol. Power plays a super-patriot who does battle with an incipient Bolshevik movement in the US. The film was acted and directed with just as much subtlety as such 1940s and 1940s "Better Dead Than Red" epics like The Red Menace and I Was a Communist for the FBI. The Great Shadow comes to a close when Capital and Labor forget their differences to rout the Red rascals.
