Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
This standard Taiwanese drama is about a trumpet player in perpetual trouble. Given that this release is from the Taiwan branch of the Shaw brothers studios -- situated in Hong Kong -- the trumpet player (Paul Chang Chung) is from that city. He has a tendency to gamble away his money, and when he learns that his wife needs a Caesarian section, he goes to any length to raise the funds for her care. That takes him into a demi-monde in which he is subject to all kinds of misfortunes -- robbery, suspicion of kidnapping, and a mugging. Maybe his wife will have to go to one of those free hospitals after all.
