Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

A young Yakima Canutt plays a supporting role as one of the gang in this obscure but interesting silent western. The star, Edythe Sterling, was once married to western hero Art Acord and enjoyed a lengthy sagebrush career herself. One of the few cowgirls of the silent era (or any era for that matter), Sterling plays a woman sheriff in the appropriately titled The Girl Who Dared. The denouement, unfortunately, is not quite as progressive as one could have wished. Kidnapped by Mexican banditos, Sterling, like any naive prairie flower, needs a man to save her, in this case Jack Carlyle, a stolid supporting actor best remembered for playing the professor in the Gene Autry serial, The Phantom Empire (1935).
