The hard-drinking grandson of a celebrated labor leader decides to run for governor after being arrested for drunken driving, and learning that the crooked prosecuting attorney (Tom Sizemore) is attempting to get him thrown in jail as part of a political power play. Later, as the young political upstart's campaign begins to pick up steam, he struggles to reconcile his socialist past with his democratic ambitions while paying tribute to his late grandfather's remarkable legacy. Jesse Ventura co-stars.
