Synopsis by Mark Deming
Experimental filmmaker Peter Forgacs created this video piece in which seemingly benign home movies of a family are intercut with newsreel footage of the violence which broke out in Hungary following the re-annexation of the nation's Northern regions in 1920, using the contrast to comment on the impact of larger social and political issues on the daily lives of ordinary people.
