Synopsis by Hal Erickson

No one in the bathtub-gin 1920s took Charles Blaney's hoary old stage melodrama The Curse of Drink seriously. This didn't stop independent producer Joseph M. Shear from mounting an updated film version of the Blaney chestnut. Alcoholic railroad engineer Harry T. Morey nearly causes a tragedy in his own family when he vows revenge against the railroad president who fired him. To its credit, Curse of Drink is well photographed by Harry Fishbeck. It is also blessed with an exciting finale, directed by the usually uninspired Harry Hoyt.
