Filmed on location in Africa, The Boy Who Never Was is a 60-minute mystery yarn that, though aimed at young audiences, never condescends to its viewers. He is aided in his efforts by two of his young friends (Paul Atlantis, Christian Bullock). Filmed in 1979, The Boy Who Never Was debuted on American television as the January 27, 1986 entry of PBS' Wonderworks series.
