Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Maid Pauline Starke works in a theatrical boarding house. She calls herself "The Atom", because no one pays attention to her. She worships actor Harry Mestayer, but he doesn't know she's alive. Success soon goes to Mestayer's head, but a fire at theatre ends his starring career, and loses him his sycophantic entourage. Left alone and unwanted, Mestayer finally realizes that Starke is the woman for him. She returns the favor by finding him touring job in a medicine show, and everything ends happily. The Atom was photographed by longtime Buster Keaton associate Elgin Lessley.
