Synopsis by Hal Erickson
"Opie and the Bully" served as the opening episode for Season Two of The Andy Griffith Show. The trouble begins when Sheriff Andy discovers that a schoolroom bully has been appropriating Opie's milk and lunch money. Initially determined to teach Opie how to defend himself, Andy ultimately sees the wisdom of allowing his son to fight his own battles. Amusingly, the bully in question, played by Terry Dickinson, is named Sheldon-and as we all know, actor Sheldon Leonard was one of the producers of The Andy Griffith Show. Written by David Adler, "Opie and the Bully" first aired October 2, 1961.
