Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Aunt Bee is called away to Mount Pilot to look after a sick cousin, but she is reluctant to leave the Taylor household, knowing full well that Andy and Opie are the messiest men in all captivity. Sure enough, the two bachelors manage to turn the house into a shambles in a matter of days. With the help of Aunt Bee's friend Bertha Bascomb (played by Hope Summers before she settled into the role of Clara Edwards), the boys manage to put the house back in order-in fact, the place is literally spotless. But circumstances dictate that our heroes are forced to restore the original disarray before the episode is over. Written by David Adler, "Andy and Opie, Housekeepers" first aired on March 13, 1961.
