A woman who has grown accustomed to isolation isn't sure what to do when she finds out she isn't alone after all in this contemplative drama from filmmakers Anders Edström and C.W. Winter. Ulla (Ulla Edström) is a middle-aged woman who lives on a small island off the coast of Sweden. While Ulla has a few friends living in town and occasionally gets visits from her grown children, she spends most of her days alone since the death of her husband, and while it was difficult for her at first, she's come to like being self-sufficient. Ulla is used to her daily routine and is comfortable with her isolation in the woods. However, Ulla's solitude is shattered when she looks out her window one day and sees that a man in blaze orange hunter's gear has made his way onto her property. The man doesn't appear to mean Ulla any harm and barely acknowledges her, but that doesn't keep her from being overwhelmed with anxiety at the arrival of a stranger after months without seeing an unexpected face. The Anchorage earned directors Edström and Winter the "Filmmakers of the Present" award at the 2009 Locarno Film Festival.
