Collegiate cab driver John Burns (Randall Carver) and his new bride Suzanne (Ellen Regan) have stretched their budget to the breaking point. Although Suzanne's parents have been helping out, they are now retired and unable to provide another penny. It falls to Alex (Judd Hirsch), the only Sunshine Cab employee with a stable bank account, to come to the rescue -- but will he be in time to prevent John and/or Suzanne from dropping out of college?
