Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This British game show endeavored to answer the age-old question "How cool is your teacher?" On each episode, high-school teachers from various school districts in the British Isles competed in a general-knowledge quiz. Queries were divided into two categories: "Swot" referred to the sort of basic knowledge dispensed in the British public-school system, while "Wot" referred to questions pertaining to popular culture. The fun began whenever a teacher proved to be proficient in "real" knowledge but dull-witted in the things that really mattered, such as movies, songs, and junk foods. Swot or Wot? aired over ITV from 1993 to 1994.
