Synopsis by Kathleen Wildasin
The journey on the Bodensee-Toggenburg Railway begins on the shores of Lake Zurich in northeastern Switzerland. After a picturesque passage through the mountains and valleys of the Toggenburg region, the train stops in the historic village of Lichtensteig and then makes an interesting diversion when it joins a wedding party aboard a restored steam train. After meandering again through Switzerland's magnificent natural wonders, a visit to the country's highest railway viaduct is a highlight of the excursion. The journey ends at the port of Romanshorn on the sparkling shores of the Bodensee, also known as Lake Constance.
