Synopsis by Violet LeVoit
One of the finest ballets of all time is reinterpreted by Royal Ballet Artistic Director Anthony Dowell as a fantasy of elegance and enchantment set in Romanov Russia, with the dual role of Odette the innocent swan queen and Odile the dynamic black swan danced by Russian ballerina Natalia Osipova. Conductor Boris Gruzin brings great subtlety to Tchaikovsky's score as performed by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.
