Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Created by Lindsay Galloway, the weekly British crime series Sutherland's Law was an offshoot of a 1972 special of the same name. The title character, John Sutherland (Iain Cuthbertson), was what is known in England as a "procurator fiscal" and in America as a "district attorney." Headquartered in a tiny Scottish town, Sutherland solved mysteries and brought miscreants to justice with the aid of several younger assistants, notably Alec Duthie (Gareth Thomas). The 24 50-minute episodes of Sutherland's Law were aired by BBC1 from June 13, 1973 until late 1976.
