Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Boxing legends Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano go glove to glove in this release of the fight that was set to determine who was truly most deserving of the title "Greatest Fighter of All Time." Prompted into the ring by a Miami boxing promoter whose series of fantasy boxing bouts between real life pugilists proved a gigantic hit with sports fans, Ali and Marciano agreed to let the cameras roll as they stepped into the ring to go 15 rounds. The popularity of the fight that ensued was legendary, and on January 20, 1970, audiences across the U.S. and Europe crowded into theaters to witness the legends in action. Though the fight was eventually broadcast on ABC's Wide World of Sports later that same year, all prints of the event except for one sent to the Library of Congress were subsequently destroyed. Now boxing fans who could only dream of seeing this historical fight can finally take home a defining moment in sports history with this release that offers a definitive answer as to who truly is the greatest boxer ever to grace the ring.
