synopsis
Submarine X-1 takes place for the most part on the north coast of Scotland Yard in the early days of World War II. Naval personnel are being trained to pilot midget submarines. Their goal is to attack German war vessels, particularly the near-invulnerable Lindendorf. The film is technically accurate, but marred by its low budget and its blase action highlights. Filmed in 1967, Submarine X-1 was released in the US in 1969 to take advantage of the newfound stardom of leading man James Caan.
