Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
In this interesting expression of cinematic realism, six non-actors are followed by the camera on one Saturday in the life of the gay community in Turin. Director Alessandro Scalco allows the protagonists to improvise, and direct sound recording adds to the pseudo-documentary format. One of the men is a pugnacious truck driver with an oversize, shaggy canine as a companion. Another is an understated introvert who spends a melancholy evening at home rather than accompany his friends to a disco opening. Personal angst as well as happy moments are captured through everyday activities and reactions to life.
