Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Franklyn Farnum and Brownie Vernon co-starred in a series of comedy-dramas in the mid-1910s, but this particular film adds an element of mystery. On a stormy night, John Winton (Farnum) is disturbed by cries for help. At his door he finds a strange girl, Mary Weller (Vernon), who takes him to a swamp where her male companion is unconscious. Winton carries the man to his bungalow, but when he goes for a doctor, both the man and girl have disappeared. A series of odd events ensue, which culminates in Winton handcuffing Mary to a car and marrying her. It turns out that the fathers of the pair had created all this intrigue just to get their children together.
