synopsis
While The Rolling Stones were best known for their love of the blues, they also had a soft spot for country music, as evidenced by their friendship with country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons and the twangy numbers like No Expectations and Far Away Eyes that occasionally popped into their repertoire. The 1997 album Stone Country featured eleven top country artists performing hit songs by The Rolling Stones, including Travis Tritt (Honky Tonk Women), Rodney Crowell (Jumpin' Jack Flash), George Jones (Time Is On My Side), The Tractors (The Last Time), and Nanci Griffith (No Expectations), and this home video release includes the music videos for all eleven tunes.
