synopsis
Stage Struck was the second of five Kinemacolor films released back-to-back during the week of March 28, 1913. In this one-reel comedy, a society matron decides to express her artistic side by staging an amateur theatrical in her own parlor. To this end, she puts together a production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Alas, our heroine is several years too old to play the part of Juliet -- plus her histrionic efforts are, to put it charitably, amateurish. Like virtually all Kinemacolor releases of this period, Stage Struck was filmed in a primitive but reportedly quite attractive color process.
