Synopsis by Hal Erickson

In yet another example of "truth is stranger than fiction," the district of Charing Cross, a tiny and otherwise tranquil patch of Glasgow real estate, has served as "host" for four of the most spectacular murder cases in the history of the United Kingdom. Based on a book by Jack House, the BBC2 anthology Square Mile of Murder offered full-blooded dramatizations of these murders and their aftermath. The series was launched on June 12, 1980 with the episode titled "The Sandyford Place Murder." Four 50-minute episodes were filmed in all.
