Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The British drama series Springhill has been described as a "fantasy chiller," a "supernatural soap opera," and (by its creators) a "domestic drama." Set in Liverpool, the story concerned the Freemans, a Catholic family living on the Springhill Estate. The 26 half-hour episodes detailed the long-lasting effects upon the Freeman clan from a bizarre and unexplainable incident in Episode One. Responsible for the series' continuity was the team of Paul Connell and Gareth Roberts, both graduates of the long-running British soap Coronation Street. Springhill was a co-production of Granada Television, Channel 4, and the Sky One satellite service, over which the series debuted in 1997.
