This travelog documentary highlights events occurring at the same time as the Chinese Exports Commodities Fair of 1973 held in Kwangchow, a city in the south of China. A propaganda effort intended to allay fears of a forbidding or aggressive China, it repeatedly stresses the friendliness of Chinese people. Among the visitors shown at the fair is Shirley Maclaine and an entourage of her friends. The film also includes considerable footage of a martial arts exhibition and a demonstration by the Women's Electrical Squadron.
