Synopsis by Mark Deming

Dave Dewaele and Stephen Dewaele are two brothers from Belgium who've built a career out of upending people's expectations about pop and electronic music. As 2 Many DJ's, Dave and Stephen have earned a potent reputation for their witty and bracing remixes of a wide range of artists. As Soulwax, they make music of their own that, unlike most acts in the electronic community, they can take out of the studio and perform on stage with a live rhythm section. As Night Versions, they present live remixes of Soulwax's music, blurring the lines between rock and dance music. And under the name Radio Soulwax, they take the whole multi-tiered production out on the road, performing sweat-soaked high-energy shows all around the world. Filmmaker Soam Farahmand joined the Dewaeles as Radio Soulwax set out on a global tour in 2008, playing 120 shows in the United States, Europe, Japan, Australia and Latin America, and Soulwax: Part Of The Weekend Never Dies is a documentary compiled from Farahmand's footage, capturing both the manic energy of their shows and the often maddening circumstances of the touring life. Soulwax: Part Of The Weekend Never Dies was an official selection at Toronto's 2009 Hot Docs Film Festival.
