Inspired by the story of the legendary Jenkins Orphanage Band, director Brad Jayne's short film tells the tale of ten year old boy named Pumpkin Brown, a shy young boy who is sent to live in Jenkins Orphanage following the death of his father. Introduced to the jazz trumpet as a means of expressing his grief through musical creativity, the introverted Pumpkin soon finds his voice in the musical style with a unique note for each human emotion.
