Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Stories of courage and commitment and interviews with top movement leaders and activists inform Kate Burns and Sheila E. Schroeder's documentary produced to expose the dark side of James Dobson's Focus on the Family. According to Dobson, Focus on the Family is an organization dedicated to redeeming families, communities, and societies worldwide through Christ. But instead of simply espousing wholesome family values, claim Burns and Schroeder, the organization is singularly dedicated to infringing upon the civil rights of any individual or group that doesn't fall into the "family" mold. Gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered individuals in particular have been targeted by Focus on the Family, and this is the story of the individuals who have decided to stand up to the group's oppressive tyranny through nonviolent resistance and acts of civil disobedience.
