Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
In this release that substitutes the power of the fists for the quickness of the wits, host Monteria Ivey takes the stage of New York City's La Mama Experimental Theater Club to introduce some of the funniest "snappers" in America. A longstanding and playful tradition in African-American communities, snapping dates back to the days of slavery and offers a means of releasing tension though the use of insulting, but good humor. For comedy fans whole like their humor with a bit of a mean streak and a healthy does of catharsis, Snaps is the one show that truly delivers.
