Synopsis by Andrea LeVasseur
American independent filmmaker Noel Olken directs the social problem film Slave, an intimate narrative look at the billion-dollar business of human trafficking. Erinn Strain stars as Tatiana, a Russian immigrant who arrives in Chicago with plans of working as an au pair. Instead, she is quickly drugged, raped, and forced into prostitution. She's almost rescued by a customer before she is forced again to work in a motel. Eventually, the motel is raided by the police and Tatiana is deported. Her story is interwoven with that of actress Diana (Krissy Shields), who stars in a play about human trafficking directed by Andy (Wesley Walker). Slave was shown at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival market.
