Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Amos Winthrop (Ben Lewis) brings his seven children out to live in California. But Don Francisco Garcia (A.D. Sears) knows there is gold on the Winthrop land and is determined to get it. He kills Amos, so the children, led by the eldest, Prudence (Bessie Love), go back East to solicit help from their Uncle Caleb (Ralph Lewis). The crusty uncle softens when he's exposed to the kiddies, and he takes them back West to fight for the family's rights. He had intended to fight by legal means, but this being the lawless days of California in the 1860s, he has to battle it out with a bunch of Mexicans who have surrounded the ranch. The family and their servants just barely manage to keep their adversaries at bay until they are saved by American troops.
