Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Its blatant title indicative of its level of humor, the British sitcom Sir Yellow took place sometime in the 13th century. Anachronistically mustachioed comedian Jimmy Edwards played the title character, a cowardly knight who preferred to party and womanize rather than fight on behalf of chivalry and nobility. Through the series' six-episode run, Sir Yellow adopted all sorts of tactical maneuvers to avoid combat with his relentless enemy Sir Griswold (Alan Curtis). Michael Ripper, a fixture of the Hammer Studios horror films, was seen as Cedric. Broadcast by Yorkshire Television from July 13 to August 19, 1973, Sir Yellow was greeted with almost universally dreadful reviews, prompting its parent network to run off the series in the least desirable time slots available.
