Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Chinese-American maestro Lan Shui teams up with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for this classical concert, mounted at Singapore's Esplanade Concert Hall in late August 2009. It begins with an interpretation of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 10 (the completed version by Clinton Carpenter), in all of its five movements; it then moves into Wu Xing - Five Elements, composed by Qigang Chen.
