Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Its sentimental title notwithstanding, Silver Threads Among the Gold was pretty grim stuff for most of its 6-reel running time. Richard J. Jose plays a farm boy who is falsely accused of theft and kicked out of his house by his stern and unforgiving father. Jose heads to the Big City hoping for a fresh start but instead ends up a seedy derelict. With the help of a family friend, our hero pulls himself back up by his bootstraps and scores a success in the world of commerce. He eventually returns home to the arms of his now-contrite father and the "gal he left behind."
