Love and wealth are at odds in this drama by Bashir El Deek about Zarlu (Nour El Sherif), a newly rich villager who returns to his hometown laden with electrical gadgetry that advertises his success. Soon after his grand entrance, Zarlu meets and falls for the young, charming Noemi (Noura), and strikes up a deal with the village's wealthy resident businessman. But the affairs of business and of the heart are at loggerheads and it is not long before Zarlu finds himself walking down a path he never wanted to take. Interspersed with Zarlu's story are images of the villagers taking food wherever they can get it or moonlighting at physically damaging jobs in order to make just a little more money.
