Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Gladys Hulette plays a young Pollyanna in this Thanhouser picture. This glad girl, however, isn't a country miss, but a shoe-shine lass who lives in a dreary basement. When she steals a loaf of bread to feed a sick neighbor, she ends up in children's court where the kindly young judge (Wayne Arey) takes an interest in her and brings her to his mother's home in the country. The shine girl blossoms, but she also notices that her hero has feet of clay when the judge encounters his old flame (Kathryn Adams), now unhappily married. The former sweethearts make a decision to run off together, but the shine girl decides to stop them. She intercepts a letter meant for the woman and meets the judge at the train station herself. He realizes the error of his ways, and returns to the city alone. But as time passes, and the shine girl becomes a young woman, the judge realizes she's the one for him.
