Directed by Cheng Yu-Chieh, Shiding De Xiatian (Summer, Dream) is set in rural Taiwan, where it follows the budding romance between student Hsiao Chih (Huang Chien-Wei) and her visiting Quebecoise English teacher Elisa (Manon Garceau). Tensions rise as cultures clash when the teacher ends up renting a room at Hsiao Chih's grandmother's (Li Hsiu-hsien) boarding house.
