In this madcap yarn, the Great Detective has flown into Venezuela to help out an old friend, and he is only passing through Caracas on the way to Maracaibo. His friend's wife is a former Miss Venezuela. Dr. Watson is forever videotaping everything his mentor does, to Holmes' immense irritation, and the poor production values of the film itself are something he feels compelled to comment on. Eventually, the viewer discovers that the ex-Miss Venezuela is a vampire, the friend's governess worships pagan gods, and the children's lives are in dire danger from their blood-sucking mother. One hardened industry reviewer (for Variety) indicated that the some of the rapid-fire jokes and set-ups in this low-budget movie actually made him laugh.
