Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Director Jan Wellman (Pyromania) explores the potential pitfalls of abstinence-only sexual education through the perspective of a contemplative California teen who documents her own efforts to honor a school-sponsored vow of chastity. An impressionable yet self-assured adolescent coming of age in a sex-obsessed culture, fourteen year old Audrey decides to remain a virgin until marriage. As Audrey records her experiences via video camera footage, web cam clips, and social media interactions, the growing disconnect between her conservative values and her connected lifestyle opens the doorway for risky activities that seem to directly contradict her pledge to abstain from sex while highlighting the difficulty of remaining pure in the modern world - where morality seems to exist in complex shades of grey rather than simple black and white.
