Lawyer Amanda Contreras (Carlota Sosa) was once a bolero singer, back in the heady days of the 1950s, when revolution was in the air and life was full of possibilities. In the present, she is married to an ambitious politician whose clear indifferenc to the death of their grown son is deeply shocking to her. In reaction to her whole situation, she reconnects with a former lover of hers, Alejandro (Héctor Myerston) who had known her when she was a singer. Years ago, her husband and Alejandro had worked together to overthrow Venezuela's longtime dictator. The roots of her current troubles are to be found in that time, and she works to discover what happened then, and she must do about it now.
