Synopsis
Part 9 (of 13): Elizabeth wins a silver medal for her Academic Decathlon speech and goes to Washington with a high-school group. She and her Ethiopian friend Helen are the only nonwhites in the group. Meanwhile, Christmas is approaching but Derard isn't jolly because he hasn't gotten a football scholarship. And Jet's feuding with his father. But Jacqueline has nothing but good things to say about her parents. Her problem is ADD. Finally, Jean and Maria are talking about marriage, but they're not saying the same thing.
