Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Created by Carla Lane, the seven-episode Searching may not have technically been a sequel to Lane's earlier British "dramedy" series Screaming, but it was definitely cut from the same feminist-angst cloth. This time the setting was Sunfield Volunteers Therapy Centre, run by a Mrs. Tilson (Prunella Scales), who wasn't really married but merely pretended to be in order to keep predatory males at arm's length. The star residents of the Centre were Chancy (Julia St. John), Lena (Victoria Carling), Milly (Regina Freeman), Dora (Clare Cathcart), and Hetty (Amanda Bellamy), who let it all hang out on a weekly basis during lively and tempestuous group-therapy sessions. A co-production of Noel Gay Television and Carlton Television, Searching was seen on Britain's ITV from June 8 to July 20, 1995.
