A soap classic following the much-married Jo and her family over four decades of divorce, drunks and other crises. Known mostly for leading lady Mary Stuart, who stuck with the show for the entire 35-year run and became the first daytime star to win an Emmy, the serial also had daring (for its time) plots involving abortion and date rape. 'Search' was the longest running soap until 'Guiding Light' passed it in 1986.
