Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Stephen Hardy (Harry T. Morey) is an honest and trusting seaman who replaces his brother, Tom (Webster Campbell) on a voyage. His brother can then get a rest and Stephen can save up enough money to make a home for his sweetheart, Bess (Alice Calhoun). But when Stephen returns, he finds that she has dumped him for Tom, and it makes him bitter. He becomes the brutal and mean-spirited skipper of a tramp schooner. One day, while anchored in New York, he comes across a girl (Louisizita Valentine) who is trying to kill herself. He saves her, and she explains that she has been wronged by a man. This immediately gains Stephen's sympathy, and an affinity springs up between the two. But when he has to travel with a load of explosives, he insists that she stay behind. Before the ship takes off, Hardy's brother comes on board. He has left Bess, and when the girl is found hiding on the ship, it is revealed that he was the cause of her trouble. The men fight and the explosives catch fire. Stephen and the girl manage to get off the ship before it explodes, killing his wicked brother.
